Hello and Welcome.

Hello and welcome to my site.

I hope that you will take the time to read, enjoy and share my poetry. I would also welcome constructive critism, comments  and ideas.

A beautiful winter's morning. A view from my own front doorstep.

The Ranting and Ravings of a Mad Cork Man !

A Collection of Poems on Life, Death, Nature and Parkinson's Disease.

The main themes of my poems are about coping with Parkinson’s Disease or any disability and the fears and hopes and also about our relationship with Nature and with ourselves.

So enough about me, I hope that you will enjoy the rantings and ravings of a mad Corkman and that my words may stimulate your mind and make you think about life, changes, and above all, appreciate this wonderful gift we have been given.

The Winds of Change.

The Winds of Change.

As we dance and we weave through the eddies of life

twirling and swirling, holding on for dear life

to the rocks of insecurity and foundations of sand

to dreams and schemes and plots so grand

to the thoughts and opinions many so dark

tumbling and fumbling like fools in the park

in a frantic search for the dream so bright

demented souls seeking the light

phantoms of illusion, ghosts of greed

in the battle between want and need

But the winds of change blow daily through life

some strong, some subtle, some cut like a knife

shaking and shattering our illusions of might

and outdated insecurities we believe to be right

yet deeply within is the will to survive

to enjoy each day and to feel alive

we have the strength and courage for the challenges we must meet

to stand up to and fight,to face and defeat

we can only live our lives day by day

and let the winds of change blow our fears away.

Introduction.

A good start in life is always a great help and I was lucky to be born in such a beautiful place.

Cork is a city of steps and steeples, of proud tradition and friendly people.

Traditional yet progressive, Corkonians are friendly and open minded, confident and proud, with an awareness of our own unique identity and place in the world.

Some of us would be as bold as to suggest that we are the Centre of the Universe !

But of course being a very modest people, we tend not to be too arrogant in our views and opinions

Being generous and welcoming, we love to share our ideas and opinions with the rest of the world…

So in keeping with this tradition, I would like, in all modesty, to share these poems and insights with you.

And thank you in advance for your time and patience.
